Social Services within the Greater Jewish Community

The Jewish Home Family (JHF) recognizes that a majority of seniors prefer to remain at home whenever possible. For this reason, JHF recently unveiled a new program: the Jewish Home at Home (JH@H). Its mission is to provide the professional expertise and services necessary to enable seniors to continue to live in their own homes in the community and to provide support for their families.    In addition to a full geriatric assessment, JH@H offers services in the areas of home health aide and companion, nursing care, personal emergency alert system (PERS), medication administration, telehealth monitoring, home modification, linkage to the Gallen Adult Day Health Care program, transportation to doctor’s appointments, counseling and psychotherapy services as well as kosher meals.  Volunteer services will also be incorporated as part of the program.  For further information, please go to our website at

Another program sponsored by Jewish Home Family is the Home Modification Volunteer Service known as Safely@Home (formerly Bonim Builders.) Safely@Home utilizes volunteers in hands-on projects to renovate or perform critical repairs for qualified low-income homeowners, the elderly, the disabled, and the chronically-ill. Safely@Home creates opportunities for individuals and groups to connect with the concept of Tikkun Olam, or repairing the world, a core value of Judaism. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome to participate, even those with little or no experience are encouraged to volunteer.

Meaningful B’nai Mitzvah projects are available. Ages 12 and up. Ages 12 – 15 need to be accompanied by a participating adult. For more details, please contact Safely@Home Director Stacey Orden or call 201 518 1175.
