We each decide whether to make ourselves learned or ignorant, compassionate or cruel, generous or miserly. No one forces us. No one decides for us, no one drags us along one path or the other. We are responsible for what we are.
— Maimonides

The Maimonides Caring Committee provides support to members of our temple community in times of need with acts of kindness. We create and deliver welcome baskets to new member families and to congregants who are welcoming a new baby to their family. We reach out to those who are praying for someone who is ill by calling them periodically to wish them well and let them know that we are thinking of them. We offer support to those who have had a loss of a loved one by calling with condolences and sending a Shabbat dinner.

We welcome Temple members who would like to be a part of the Maimonides Caring Committee's goal of caring for our Temple Beth Rishon community. Please contact Janet Shapiro, Committee Chairpersonif you would like to volunteer. If you, or someone you know in our congregation could use our support, please contact the Temple office at 201-891-4466.
