Friends: The Book of Remembrance is published each year to provide an opportunity to honor the memory of a loved one. It is a reassuring and powerful affirmation for our memories and the legacy our loved ones have left.
This book is used for the Yizkor service on Yom Kippur and throughout the year on Sukkot, Passover and Shavuot. If you have a new entry that you would like included in the 2019/2020 Book of Remembrance, please complete the fillable form at the bottom of this page and it will automatically be submitted to the Temple office. Every year, we will include your listing(s) unless otherwise notified. The fee is $36.00 per listing.
Another way to memorialize a loved one is to create a Yahrzeit Plaque for the memorial wall in the sanctuary. These engraved plaques are permanently mounted on the wall in the sanctuary with a corresponding light next to each name. The light is illuminated on the date of the individual Yahrzeit (the anniversary of the person’s passing according to the Hebrew calendar) which is also engraved on the plaque.
In the back of the Book of Remembrance, there is a complete listing of all the names of our synagogue’s Yahrzeit Plaques. The fee for a Yahrzeit plaque is $360.00. Please complete the fillable form at the bottom of this page if you are interested in having a plaque made and it will be submitted automatically to the Temple office. The fee can either be billed to you or you can pay here.
These giving opportunities not only help to renew our spirit but they also support the sustenance of our community.
