We are fortunate to have numerous opportunities to learn from our inspiring spiritual leader and teacher, Rabbi, Dr. Kenneth A. Emert. Among those learning opportunities are two, six-week evening Roundtable discussion sessions he leads in the Fall and the Spring. The classes are suitable for those beginning their Jewish learning as well as those who want to brush up on their understanding of Jewish thought.
For each module, the rabbi chooses a theological topic that relates to contemporary times and our personal lives. Through stimulating lectures, lively discussions, and a chance to ask provocative questions, our congregants come away enriched from their learning from Rabbi Emert and each other.
Nosh & Drash
Bible & Bagels, Coffee & Commentary...What better reason to roll out of bed on Shabbat morning?
Nosh and Drash is an hour-long, Shabbat morning discussion of the weekly Torah portion facilitated by Lois Ruderman, TBR’s rabbinic intern, currently in her third year serving our congregation.
Nosh and Drash is a participatory discussion. In our ever-widening group of participants, we are fortunate to have a wealth of knowledge of history, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, and more! From one Shabbat to the next, our discussions are lively and varied. We are a supportive and friendly kehillah (fellowship), learning Torah and sharing the joy of Shabbat together. All levels of Jewish knowledge are welcome!
Consider joining us as we DRASH (interpret and comment on the Torah) and NOSH (hot drinks, bagels and shmeers) on Saturday mornings prior to services from 9:00 - 10:00 am in the large classroom at the end of the Educational Wing.
