Rabbi Sandy Olshansky was ordained in May, 2011 at the Academy for Jewish Religion, an independent, pluralisticseminary in Riverdale, NY.He received his MA in Jewish Studies from Gratz College at the same time.His MA thesis was titled “Teaching the Meaning of the Haftarot (weekly prophetic readings) to Bar/BatMitzvah Students.”
Prior to ordination he served TBR as Rabbinic Intern from June, 2008 to June, 2011 and as Hebrew School Director from July, 2009 to June, 2011.
Before starting rabbinic studies in 2007, Rabbi Olshansky worked in sales and marketing in the consumer electronics industry and in the advertising industry.
He served as a bar/bat mitzvah coach at Pleasantville Community Synagogue in Westchester County, NY and as a trustee and chairman of the religious school committee at North Shore Synagogue in Syosset, Long Island.
