| PROPOSED EDUCATIONAL WING PLANS |
On Sunday March 2, 2008, a presentation detailing the proposed New Education Center was made to the congregation. This would be the final phase of a project that began over 10 years ago to make Temple Beth Rishon the “synagogue of choice”. Our congregation is growing at both ends of the demographic spectrum and it is important to be able to have a facility that affords all generations the opportunity to engage in learning and growth.
We are pleased to announce that the congregation approved the motion for this New Education Center proposal as follows:
The membership of Temple Beth Rishon approves the “Gateway to Future Generations” educational center expansion project for a cost not to exceed $4,700,000.
-
The project will add approximately 13,000 square feet to the existing space designated for education.
-
The expansion shall include creating state of the art classrooms for the preschool and Hebrew school, designated space for the Youth Group, an all purpose room, offices, a conference room and an elevator.
-
The proposed financing for the project will include an estimated $3,150,000 of contributions, a $1,000,000 mortgage, and a congregational assessment totaling $550,000. (The assessment = $360.00 per year per family for 5 years. Families contributing $10,000 or more are exempt from the assessment.)
-
Prior to breaking ground, $2,750,000 must be raised in pledges/donations.
- Prior to breaking ground, $2,000,000 must be collected.
I look forward to sharing with you the excitement and anticipation of entering into this exciting time for the Temple.
